My name is Anne Sophie Abel, I have been in Social Science for a year, I want to pursue my studies in Psychology at any University in Montreal. This glossary is a resume about few terms of Psychology. It has 20 terms, I found most definition on Wikipedia, Google Chrome, on Dictionary Cambridge, and Dictionary.com. I want you to pay attention to every term about the Psychology field, it will help you get a bigger picture about what a psychologist deal with every now and then.

Anxiety

A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.
Example: He felt a surge of anxiety.

The theory that human and animal behavior can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behavior patterns.

Mental distress encompasses the symptoms and experiences of a person's internal life that are commonly held to be troubling, confusing or out of the ordinary. Mental distress can potentially lead to a change of behavior, affect a person's emotions in a negative way, and affect their relationships with the people around them
Example: My friend had a mental distress earlier today.

Selfishness, involving a sense of entitlement, a lack of empathy, and a need for admiration, as characterizing a personality type.
